Festival Information

April 13, 2019 is the 2nd Fredericksburg Jazz Festival! There are 13 school ensembles performing throughout the day, Improvisation clinics open to school attendees, and the Festival culminates in the Feature Concert at 7:00pm. This year’s 7:00pm Feature Concert includes Michael Davis, Elias Haslanger, Hank Hehmsoth, Utah Hamrick, Wayne Salzmann II, and the Fredericksburg High School Jazz Ensemble directed by Jason Younts.

This year’s Feature Concert will also feature the WORLD PREMIERE of Tom Kubis’ “Bluzin’ Burg” which was commissioned for the Fredericksburg High School Jazz Ensemble. You do not want to miss this!!!

Festival Schedule

The Fredericksburg Jazz Festival hosts over a dozen Middle School and High School Jazz Ensembles throughout the day of the event. The Festival culminates with a Ticket required 7:00pm Feature Concert consisting of our Feature Artists and the Fredericksburg High School Jazz Ensemble.
